How to Get to Miramar SurfCamp (Step-by-Step Travel Guide)

Planning your trip to Miramar SurfCamp and wondering how to get here?

Good news — it’s easier than you might think.

Here’s a simple step-by-step guide to help you get from your home country all the way to the beach.

Step 1: Fly into Nicaragua

The main airport you’ll want to fly into is:

Managua International Airport (MGA)

It’s the largest airport in Nicaragua and receives international flights from the U.S., Canada, and other parts of Central America.

Step 2: Getting from Managua to Miramar

Once you arrive, you have a few options — but some are definitely better than others.

Option 1: Arrange a Transfer with Us (Recommended)

The easiest and most stress-free option is to book a transfer directly with Miramar SurfCamp.

  • Pick-up at the airport
  • Comfortable, reliable transport
  • No need to figure anything out after your flight

👉 This is what most of our guests choose.

Option 2: Private Taxi

You can also take a private taxi from Managua.

  • Travel time: ~2 hours
  • Cost can vary
  • Requires a bit more coordination

Option 3: Bus (Not Recommended for Most Travelers)

While it’s possible to reach the area by bus, it usually involves multiple connections and can take significantly longer.

We generally don’t recommend this option unless you’re very familiar with the region.

Step 3: Travel Time and What to Expect

The drive from Managua to Miramar takes approximately 2 hours.

Along the way, you’ll pass through:

  • Small towns
  • Coastal landscapes
  • Rural Nicaragua

It’s a great introduction to the country before arriving at the ocean.

Helpful Travel Tips

To make your arrival as smooth as possible:

  • 💵 Bring some cash (USD or local currency)
  • 📶 Download offline maps or have a local SIM
  • 🧳 Travel light if you can — easier for transfers

Final Thoughts

Getting to Miramar SurfCamp is part of the adventure — but it doesn’t have to be complicated.

With the right planning (and especially if you arrange your transfer with us), your trip from the airport to the beach will be smooth and easy.
