Fast-Track Your Surf Progress in Nicaragua’s Most Consistent Waves

Dreaming of catching clean green waves, trimming down the line, or maybe even pulling your first turns? At Miramar SurfCamp, we help beginners break through the learning curve and reach intermediate level in just one week — thanks to consistent waves, personalized coaching, and the right environment to learn fast.

Day 1: Getting Comfortable in the Ocean

Your first day at Miramar is all about building confidence. You’ll get familiar with:

  • Ocean safety & etiquette
  • Paddling technique
  • Catching your first whitewater waves

The key here is repetition. The soft sand bottom and forgiving waves make it ideal for building your foundation.

Day 2: Pop-Up Mastery & Board Control

Now it’s time to refine your pop-up technique, learn to position your body correctly, and start riding waves cleanly toward the beach. With video analysis and direct feedback from our coaches, most guests start linking 3–5 second rides by Day 2.

We’ll also work on:

  • Timing your paddles
  • Turning the board with weight shifts
  • Reading where waves break

Day 3–4: Catching Green Waves & Angling Your Takeoff

Here’s where the fun begins! By mid-week, we head out for mellow green waves — your first real rides down the line. You’ll start:

  • Angling your takeoff (left or right)
  • Improving your balance and stance
  • Learning how to speed up or slow down

The coaching gets more technical, and each wave becomes a new lesson.

Day 5: Building Consistency & Confidence

By now, you're catching green waves regularly. We’ll help you:

  • Paddle to the peak with more independence
  • Avoid nose dives
  • Start “trimming” across the face of the wave

Every session ends with feedback and goals for the next surf, helping you progress faster than you thought possible.

Day 6–7: Linking Turns & Surfing with Flow

The final stretch is about control and style. If conditions allow, we’ll take you out on a boat to nearby Miramar Point — a gentle reef break that’s perfect for longer rides.

Expect to:

  • Practice basic frontside and backside turns
  • Surf with more rhythm and flow
  • Feel like a real intermediate surfer‍

You’ll also receive a final video coaching session and personalized tips for what to work on after your trip.
