What to Pack for Your Surf Trip to Nicaragua
Simple, Light, and Ready for the Ocean
One of the best things about a surf trip to Nicaragua is how easy it is to pack. Warm weather, warm water, and a laid-back lifestyle mean you don’t need much — just the essentials and the right mindset.
Here’s a simple guide to help you feel prepared and relaxed before arriving at Miramar SurfCamp.
Clothing: Keep It Light
Nicaragua’s Pacific coast is warm year-round, so lightweight clothing is all you need.
Think:
- Swimwear (you’ll probably live in it)
- Light shorts, t-shirts, and tank tops
- A long-sleeve shirt or rashguard| for sun protection
- Flip-flops or sandals
- One casual outfit for evenings
Less is more — laundry is easy, and beach life is simple.
Surf Gear: Bring What You Love (Or Nothing at All)
If you have a favorite board, feel free to bring it. But if you want to travel light, we’ve got you covered.
At Miramar Surf Camp, you’ll find:
- Surfboards for all levels
- Leashes, wax, and basic gear
- Local knowledge to match the right board to the conditions
Many guests arrive with just their swimsuit and a smile.
Sun & Ocean Essentials
The sun here is strong, and respecting it makes your trip much more enjoyable.
We recommend:
- Reef-safe sunscreen
- A hat or cap
- Sunglasses
- Aloe vera or after-sun lotion
Your skin will thank you.
Health, Documents & Small Extras
A few practical items help keep things stress-free:
- Passport (valid for at least 6 months)
- Travel insurance
- Personal medications
- A small backpack or dry bag
- Cash for small local purchases
Electricity adapters are usually not needed — Nicaragua uses the same plugs as the U.S.
What You Don’t Need to Bring
This might be the best part.
You don’t need:
- Wetsuits (the water is warm)
- Fancy clothes
- Stress or overplanning
Just bring an open mind and a love for the ocean.
Arrive Light, Leave Full
Packing for Miramar isn’t about preparation — it’s about letting go.
Once you arrive, life slows down, days revolve around the tides, and everything you really need is already here.
We’ll take care of the rest.
